1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS coupe has a fascinating history, initially bought from Kizzier Chevrolet in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After some time in Wyoming, it landed in the hands of the current owner’s father in August 2001. Powered by a 396ci V8 engine matched with a Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle, this classic boasts a vibrant yellow exterior and comfortable black vinyl upholstery.

Some standout features include a black vinyl roof, black side stripes, power steering, power front disc brakes, 14″ Super Sport wheels, a Muncie shifter, and a push-button radio. The seller is now offering this Chevelle SS on behalf of the current owner, complete with manufacturer’s literature, delivery documents, a Protect-O-Plate, a car cover, 1994 parts invoices, and a Wyoming title.

The factory finish in SS-specific Daytona Yellow (76) gives this car a distinctive look, enhanced by a black vinyl roof, SS 396 grille and badging, black side stripes, hood cowls, chrome trim and bumpers, and a dual-outlet exhaust. Although the decklid has been repainted and doesn’t match the body color, some touch-ups, chips, scratches, and dings contribute to its authentic charm.

Mounted on 14″ Super Sport wheels with chrome trim rings and SS center caps, the car features 225/60 Kelly Charger Radial white-letter tires, though they show signs of cracking. Equipped with power steering, rear air shock absorbers, and power-assisted front disc brakes, it promises a smooth ride.

Inside, you’ll find front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl, along with a color-coordinated console, dashboard cover, carpets, and door panels. The cabin features a Muncie shifter, a push-button Delco radio, a heater and defroster, and Deluxe seat belts.

Although the two-spoke steering wheel is cracked, it frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a multifunction gauge with an inset tachometer. The mechanical odometer shows 60k miles, with approximately 530 added under the current owner.

Under the hood, the 396ci Turbo Jet V8 stands out with a Rochester four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and a chrome air cleaner lid and valve covers. An oil change was most recently performed in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear differential, with a replacement dual exhaust system installed.

Accompanied by manufacturer’s literature, delivery documents, a Protect-O-Plate, a car cover, and 1994 parts invoices, this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe is not just a car; it’s a piece of automotive history.
